Both controller and keyboard input are available, but the Steam listing says the developers recommend a controller. Xbox controllers are listed, and DualSense is listed with a USB-only qualification. Keyboard controls appear in the developer’s older demo instructions, though that 2022 key map is not a verified 1.0 binding list.

Which should you choose?
Use a controller if you want the input method the developers recommend on Steam. Use a keyboard if that is the device available to you; the developer’s itch.io page published keyboard controls for an early demo, and contemporary PC coverage also described keyboard play. Neither source establishes that one is faster or better for every mode.
The attack input advances through your current sequence of moves rather than triggering one fixed move every time, according to the MKAU Gaming review. That behavior may matter more than the choice of device when a button seems to produce a different attack on the next press.
About the older keyboard key lists
The 2022 developer demo listed arrow keys for movement, Space for attack, Enter for entering or interacting, and X for slow motion. A community Controls page describes a different WASD-based layout. The sources do not resolve which set is the default in the September 2026 full release. Use the 1.0 in-game control screen for exact keys, rather than copying a demo-era chart into a current setup.
The Steam listing and linked player reports do not establish that a particular 1.0 mode or the level editor is keyboard-and-mouse only. Steam’s “full controller support” label describes the game broadly, but it is not a mode-by-mode binding chart.
If controls do not respond as expected, first check which device the game has assigned and inspect its current key settings. For DualSense, try the USB connection that Steam actually lists. A 2025 community report said controller buttons could not be remapped in-game; its status in 1.0 has not been confirmed.
For two-player input, see the multiplayer guide; its mixed gamepad and keyboard reports are community observations, not an official 1.0 control scheme.
